AP Election Services tabulated the votes in nearly every primary, including all 74 presidential and state primaries, and 4,824 referendums and elections in the November general election.

99.9% Accuracy

Of these 4,824, a total of 4,653 contested races were called by David Pace, AP news editor for special projects and elections, and his team of callers and analysts,
with a remarkable accuracy rate of
99.9 percent.

26 Races

In the “off year” of 2013, AP tabulated and reported 26 primaries, special elections and runoffs, as well as the November general election in nine states, declaring winners in all races.

In 2014

4,500+ Races

On election night, AP will tabulate more than 4,500 races.

5,000 People

On election night AP employs about 5,000 election workers and stringers around the country to gather vote tallies from county clerks and other officials.

50 States
