Investigative reporters Juliet Linderman and Martha Mendoza scored an exclusive interview with Lara Trump in which the president-elect’s daughter-in-law said she would step down as RNC co-chair. Lara Trump also spoke about her interest in potentially being named to Florida’s open Senate seat if Marco Rubio is confirmed as secretary of state. Their relationship with Lara Trump’s staff came from a strong profile they wrote on her earlier in the year. They went back to her staff after Donald Trump’s victory and negotiated the interview in which she agreed to exclusively break the news of her plans to step down as co-chair.
