After President Donald Trump announced sweeping new tariffs, AP was there to document the president’s visit to Florida as financial markets reeled and recession fears loomed.

Photographer Alex Brandon captured a series of images, including photos of the president reading coverage of the tariffs in a newspaper.
Brandon explains how he made those photos:
In a situation like this, I try to use a high shutter speed knowing that he is in a moving limousine and pan with the car as it goes by, hoping to get as many frames as possible.
We had to park about a mile away and walk to the entrance. As the limousine turned into the entrance … I noticed he was reading something, so I kept taking pictures a little longer than usual to see what he might be reading. I carried my backpack with me and opened it up to file the photos immediately as I always do. I noticed he was reading a newspaper. After getting a ride to my car from another journalist, I went into a nearby supermarket and checked the New York Post and found the exact page he was reading that had published my photo of him taken the day before.
